| The morning of
Wednesday, 27 November, saw Northampton U3A's Country
Dance Group playing host to a number of members from
other local U3A country dance groups. The gathering took
place at our normal venue, Weston Favell Parish Hall and
was attended by about 50 people in all including 20
members from the other groups. The largest contingent
(apart from our own members were from the Towcester
Group, who meet at Greens Norton, but there were also
members of the Wellingborough, Kettering and Rushden
groups present. |

The music was supplied by Wellingborough band Long Odds led
by Don Flower and the dances were called by the various
group leaders, John Green from Northampton, Jean Beaver from
Kettering and Jane Edmett from Wellingborough.

The morning started with a helping of mulled wine as
everyone arrived, followed, after an hours enjoyable
dancing, by tea or coffee and hot mince pies with more
dancing to follow. Everyone had a good time and we
agreed to repeat the experience next year. Special
thanks were given to the callers, the band, and those who
prepared the refreshments.
